How was your Mothers Day?

Morning Everybody.

I posted yesterday but we had a technological issue. Did you have a nice mothers day? What did you get up to. post a comment and tell me.

I spent the day in the studio (The Drey) - trying to get it in a usable state for stitching. I had two lovely young men (Daniel and Toby) come over from Queenstown to help me. Paddy financed it :-)

We started out by taking everything out, laying down the carpet and then putting it back in again. By the end of the day my couches were set up and I was starting to see the bones of the studio falling into the right place.

I even managed to find the signage that I got organised before coming down in February - it has made it to the front door - exciting.

I helped out a Wanaka lady called Sonya George who operates a photo booth business - Cheeky Fox Photo-booth a few weeks ago with a piece of equipment. When Sonya got to the studio she got very enthusiastic. After all the unpacking - enthusiasm is welcome. Sonya and I are going to do a bit more sorting on Friday.

We are starting to see progress. Ladies hold onto your pants.... on Sunday I even parted ways with three old chairs (that I inherited with the workshop) and a dressing table that got damaged in the move. You cannot tell me I'm a hoarder, I know when to let stuff go. It is just that for most things the time is not right.

Well its Monday - I am teaching today. So you all have a lovely day, get some stitching done. Do not forget to tell me what you got up to yesterday.

Welcome and hello - you found me

Fabulous, you found the web page - google doesn't really help get you here - sorry about that.

Over time and as I develop web skills that might change. Now I could let this be disheartening and consider it a road block, or we can keep working on it to get it better. Being a member of the "keep working at it" school - practicing progress not perfection, I kicked it into gear and got cracking. This web page has been sitting dormant long enough.

If you have visited here previously, you will remember we were all about assessment in the workplace. It was my pleasure to help many people in New Zealand's hospitality industry earn qualifications while working on the job. Congratulations all of you, I was so pleased when you walked across the stage and received your qualification. I think of you when I see your names come across my screen, or see your name/photo in a hospo/food article I am reading. It is heartwarming to have being a small part of your journey.

At the beginning 2015 my family embarked on a big adventure. The stars aligned and we all moved to the South Island of New Zealand. We brought a house in the lovely Cardrona Valley and I arranged studio space in Wanaka.

Now, while remaining involved in Tertiary Vocational education I am starting a new adventure. Under the brand MOJO Back I have rebranded myself as a working artist.
